BACKGROUND
The scenery in the painting is from my hometown in China. There is a lotus pond in the park near the community, where I like to be in a daze, feeling the breeze and the leaves swaying; everything is calm and comfortable.
Amethyst
Regarding the characters in the picture, these are my original characters. She was inspired by a mushroom, Amethyst Deceiver, which is a brightly colored edible mushroom. Out of my love for mushrooms and exploring the world, I created Amethyst, who has colorful hair and loves adventure. In my story, she is about to embark on a fantastic journey.
The Lotus Pond is Amethyst’s first stop as she begins her journey, which is also my first journey out of the house. In my story, she will make friends with different people as she travels through various landscapes, inspiring me for future journeys.
I like to share the world with the characters in my illustrations, and most of the background is from the scenery around me.
